Reverse the Signs of Aging in Your Skin

Your Skin & Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. Your skin gets thinner, drier, and less elastic as you age; and elements like the sun can cause wrinkles. The good news is that there are many ways you can treat your skin to help keep your youthfulness and prevent further damage.

Here are three ways you can address wrinkles:

Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing uses different types of energy to produce small wounds in the skin in order to stimulate the healing process and collagen formation. This results in smoother skin and improved skin tone. We offer both radiofrequency and fractional ablative resurfacing in order to provide patients with options for downtime and cost.

Botox®

Botox® is a medical treatment used to treat wrinkles by temporarily relaxing your muscles. It’s a simple solution for dramatically reducing wrinkles. It’s made from a naturally occurring protein called botulinum toxin, which is often used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles of the face. Treating small wrinkles early prevents them from becoming deeper and harder to treat later. A treatment typically lasts three months and the price depends on how many units of Botox® are used.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers, also known as fillers, are injectable volumizers that can help plump and lift the cheeks, areas around the nose and mouth, lips, and other areas. They replace volume that is naturally lost over time that causes sunken cheeks, thin lips, and deeper creases around the nose and mouth. The effect of fillers is seen immediately after injection and results can last from 6 months to 2 years depending upon the product used. Side effects are minimal and usually include bruising, so you’ll want to make sure a treatment is at least two weeks before an important event.

How are Botox®, fillers, and laser resurfacing all different wrinkle treatments?

These three processes help your body combat the effects of aging in different ways. Fillers help fill creases caused by volume loss, while Botox® helps to calm the muscles that cause wrinkles, such as those around the eyes, forehead, and between the eyes.

Laser resurfacing improves the texture of your skin by stimulating new collagen growth. These can be used separately or in combination with Botox and fillers depending upon your goals and skin type.
